After the resounding success of season 1 released in August 2023 and considered one of the most impressive live-action adaptations of Netflix’s manga. And now, the wait is over when Netflix officially released the first trailer of One Piece Live-Action season 2 on the occasion of One Piece Day 2025. The new season, titled “Into the Grand Line”, is expected to premiere in 2026.
After season 1 of One Piece Live-Action ended, fans are still eager to continue accompanying the Straw Hat crew on new adventures. Season 2 has been deployed for a long time with a larger scale, both in terms of characters and plot, promising to surpass the previous part.
The trailer shows the Straw Hat crew returning with more epic adventures than ever, including the appearance of giants and dramatic battles. Viewers also get to see for the first time the live-action versions of Nico Robin, Smoker, Miss Wednesday and Brogy. Season 2 will recreate many important story arcs such as Loguetown – where Luffy was almost executed, Reverse Mountain – the first time the Straw Hats set foot on the Grand Line, and Little Garden – the journey to survive on the dinosaur island. These are short stories but have the value of building the foundation of friendship, challenges and ideals that the group pursues.
In the new season, the crew will face a difficult task: bringing the character Tony Tony Chopper – a reindeer who can talk and act like a human – to the live-action screen so that the character seems to be truly “alive”. Previously, Netflix revealed the first image of Chopper in September last year, but only in a brief “teaser”.

In this teaser, Chopper timidly steps out from behind a stone pillar and shyly introduces himself. When he first appears, Chopper’s appearance makes a strong impression with his lovely big round eyes, small appearance and iconic big pink hat. The blocks of light reflecting on his body and the small clumps of fur moving with each step of the character give a very realistic feeling, just enough and not “too much” to cause distraction. With a cute voice by actress Mikaela Hoover, the character Chopper had a lively debut with all kinds of emotions, sometimes reserved, shy, sometimes excited and full of energy. After completing the introduction, he even jumped a little to celebrate and then shyly ran away from the screen. Overall, the live-action version of Tony Tony Chopper will have certain limitations when compared to the anime and manga versions, where the character can freely express himself in an exaggerated way without making the audience uncomfortable. This is quite difficult to express in live-action, but the film crew skillfully handled it to keep the character’s soul in the original as much as possible. The author of the One Piece manga – Eiichiro Oda is also very satisfied with the character’s appearance.
